   Lake Travis ~ Austin TX

01/04/2024 update: Unfortunately, the long, devastating drought continues. Lake Travis is still over 50 feet low and the FloatHouse is not floating. No one can know the future. We are reluctant, at this time, to take any reservations for the upcoming season.

Go here for current lake levels. The house floats at 640".

You'll love this place...everybody does!

ABOUT

AWESOME!

(That's the most commonly used word in our guestbook.)

Everybody loves the Float House. Part House Boat - Part Lake House - with the best of both (and a whole lot cheaper than a houseboat).

What we are:

Built from the water up for fun.  It's a full size house (1400 sq ft, 3 bedroom - 1 1/2 bath) that floats on the water. It truly is the most unique vacation rental on Lake Travis (or just about anywhere).

Tabletop shuffleboard, pool table, swim mat, paddleboard, firepit, underwater fish light, water slide, and the best rope swing in Texas (or just about anywhere) are just some of the attractions. The main star though is just being right there on the lake

What we are not:

We are not The Four Seasons - this place is very much a "lakehouse".

And, we are not your typical American "remove-it-for-liability" anesthetized place. You have to use your own judgement a little (e.g. the rope swing, open handrails, open ladders).

Also, the place is not really very "toddler" friendly. The kids really do need to know how to swim (or be watched closely).

RATES/AVAIL

Click here to go to our VRBO Site. Then scroll down to the Calendar to check for availability. Do not book from here - you will pay a higher day rate, plus a service fee, and it's usually wrong. Simply contact Ann for preferred pricing plus a whole lot more information.

As you may know, our long-standing policy is that Reservations begin on January 1st, period. Ann believes that this is the most democratic method. We do however, get frequent lamentations that whole-week reservations are almost never available due to the popularity of our place. Therefore, we are going to allow whole-week reservations to be made at any time for the next year. There is no discount, except that the rates will be at the current year rate.
